Sandwiches was one of the favourite
briefs this year as it sparked interesting research that led off in tangents.
As it was a personal brief each stage was planned out with a strict time
management plan to stay on track. This was helped as the designs had to be made
in time for the laser slot and to gather a substantial amount of feedback.
The tomatoes were the favourite A3 sheet
by many peers suggesting that layer dominated the overall design which was the
only negative aspect to this brief. Overall this was a very enjoyable project
where the designs worked collectively and individually whilst reinforcing the
message to have fun in design.
The audience for this brief was the
general public, it was a very open-ended brief with an open outcome that can be
interpreted as wished. The only hint given is that the project is named ‘The
BLT’.
The time frame for this brief was one
month, the time was divided up by different peer reviews and critiques. As it
was a personal brief a lot of the time was developing a concept that came from
the research gathered as there was nothing specified in the brief.
This brief used the bare minimum amount
paper, all the scrap paper from the cut offs on the laser machine was collected
and recycled into new paper that was researched and made at home. Overall this
was a thoroughly enjoyable brief with an outcome that was deemed as an engaging
and entertaining outcome.
