After visiting China town in London something that interested me was the fact that throughout the area there is Chinese under all the english writing of shops, street names etc. I decided to look at this further in my initial sketches. I used the type that I had photographed in my primary research. I found it interesting that to me they are just shapes but in reality they are making up a language.
When I was drawing them I perceived them as if they were shapes and shapes that were interesting with different lines and dots that create words.
