Rationale send off

Charlie asked for a little pdf of how our projects were getting along, with an added rationale to go alongside it.

Our ident is conceptually inspired by the children’s tv show, Bob the Builder. Featuring in the video is the rube Goldberg machine that’s structure is loosely based around the existing logotype used for the tv show, as well as colourful building blocks that are commonly played with by young kids.

The typography inspired shapes are made from wood pine that is especially manufactured for children and are painted with colours that are also representative of the tv show.
Each block has been hand crafted in the wood workshop to enhance the concept to a greater extent, and will be hand painted in the colour scheme. (shown on the right)

The colourful shapes will then be placed ambiguously (similarly to the ident for the Simpsons on channel 4, and the sketches below) on an A1 board, where the ball will roll down an eventually reach the start of the domino effect. The domino effect will mimic channel 0’s branding and identity, where the camera will zoom out and the voice over will commence – introducing Bob the Builder as the tv show airing next.

The tone of the ident will be minimalistic, bold, fun and exiting, in order to capture the attention of the children that are viewing.
