The outcome for this brief received a lot of positive
feedback from multiple sources creating a sense of relief as a lot of time and
experimentation went into the designing phase of this brief.
The client who was collaborated with did not stick to her
timeframe due to editing errors thus leaving less time to complete it. Despite
this the communication was excellent throughout with the time frame that was
met. This collaboration was good as the roles were set out clearly and a lot of
freedom in the design area was given.
Designing for the audience was something that came quite
easily as it is familiar due to previous research into ‘DAZED’. The readers of
DAZED vary however the majority are of similar ages and professions as myself.
The client was happy for recycled paper to be used as she
was aware of the current state of the waste of paper around the world and was
pleased to do whatever possible which was ideal for my practice. If the Look
Book was to be printed again other stock choices would have been examined for
the front and back cover page as a difference in stock could have been
interesting and added another dimension.
The final Look Book was printed and scanned in to create a
video portraying the booklet as if each page is being turned.
Overall this brief was very satisfying and has pushed my
design aspirations as a designer due to other roles such as organising shooting
and art direction that were previously un-known. This client relationship will
definitely be utilised in the future.
